Dr. Kristopher “Kit” Bennion
Board Certified Pediatric Dentist
Choosing the right dentist for your child is one of the most important decisions you can make for their long-term health. A great pediatric dentist does more than clean teeth, they build trust, reduce anxiety, and lay the foundation for a lifetime of healthy habits. Whether your child is coming in for their very first visit or they need more advanced care, the person in that chair matters enormously.
Dr. Kristopher “Kit” Bennion leads Guadalupe Kids Dental with a philosophy rooted in prevention, patience, and personalized care. A Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry (ABPD) and a member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, the American Dental Association, and the Texas Dental Association, Dr. Bennion brings a level of training and dedication that sets him apart. Families across Seguin and the surrounding communities trust him to care for their children, and he takes that responsibility seriously.
Dr. Bennion’s Education and Training
before going on to complete his Doctor of Medical Dentistry (D.M.D.) at the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine. He then completed a two-year pediatric dental residency at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and the University of Pennsylvania, one of the most respected programs in the country for pediatric dental training.
During his residency, Dr. Bennion received in-depth training in sedation dentistry and the treatment and management of medically complex pediatric patients. This foundation gives him the tools to care for children across a wide range of needs, from routine preventive visits to more involved procedures that require a calm, skilled, and experienced hand.
What Board Certification Means for Your Child
Board certification is not a requirement for practicing pediatric dentistry, which is exactly why it matters. Earning Diplomate status through the ABPD requires completing a rigorous two-part examination process that goes well beyond the standard licensing requirements. According to the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry, the process evaluates a dentist’s clinical reasoning, communication, and professionalism at the highest level. It also requires ongoing continuing education to maintain that status year after year.
Dr. Bennion earned his Diplomate status after testing in the top 3% on the qualifying examination. That commitment to excellence is not something he leaves at the testing center. It shows up in how he approaches every appointment, every diagnosis, and every conversation with a parent in the treatment room.
A Personal Approach to Every Child
Dr. Bennion and his wife have been blessed with seven children, including a son born with Down Syndrome. That experience shapes how he sees every patient who comes through the door. He knows firsthand that children are not all the same, that what works for one child may not work for another, and that parents need a dentist they can truly trust with their child’s care.
Our special needs dentistry services reflect that understanding. Dr. Bennion has extensive training in treating children with developmental, physical, and sensory differences, and our office is built to support those visits with a patient-focused, low-stress environment. Every child, regardless of their needs or background, deserves dental care that respects who they are.
Prevention First
Dr. Bennion’s approach to dentistry centers on prevention and education. His goal is to help children avoid problems before they start, and when treatment is necessary, to take the most conservative approach that still addresses the issue effectively. That means honest conversations with parents, thorough dental exams and cleanings, and a focus on building good habits early.
Our prevention services are designed to keep your child’s smile healthy at every stage of growth, from their first tooth through their teenage years. Dr. Bennion believes that a child who enjoys coming to the dentist is a child who will take care of their teeth for life, and that starts with making every visit a positive one.
