The First Appointment Walkthrough

Your child’s first visit typically includes a comprehensive oral exam, a gentle cleaning, and, when appropriate, dental X-rays to get a complete picture of your child’s oral health. We will walk you through every step of the process and explain what we are seeing in plain language so that nothing feels like a surprise. According to the American Academy of Pediatrics, the AAPD, ADA, and AAP all recommend that children have their first dental visit within the first year of life, ideally around the time of their first tooth. Early visits allow us to identify individual risk factors and get ahead of potential concerns before they require more involved treatment.
